The Conversion gs: Dominic Hoffman () Mickey Jones (Chris) Duncan Regehr (Charles)
During a raid on a munitions convoy, Tyler and Kyle are captured by Diana's troops as part of an elaborate scheme engineered by Charles, the Leader's special envoy. Charles is here to see that the war is won, and demotes Diana back to science officer and makes Lydia his special assistant. (Lydia was not killed when Diana ordered her shuttle blasted in a previous Episode.) Charles begins converting Tyler by brain-washing him into thinking that Donovan raped his wife and stole his child.
The Resistance kidnaps Lydia and holds her for a prisoner exchange. As part of Charle's plan, Tyler is freed and an exchange (Kyle for Lydia) is arranged. At an abandoned stadium, Bates acts as a neutral party in the exchange. Just as Tyler is about to Donovan, Elizabeth intercedes, and Bates is critically wounded as the others escape. The fate of the Open City remains an important, unanswered question.

NOTE: In a scene that was shot for this episode (but left on the cutting room floor), Nathan Bates gives his red dust pulse monitor to Kyle, which would explain why the red dust isn't released into the atmosphere when Nathan dies a couple of episodes later.#nosmileys
